The Kid Who Tried to Quit Pokémon
Jon grew up pulling Pokémon packs the right way — Base Set, Jungle, Fossil. He was in from the start. But somewhere around Team Rocket, he stopped. Life moved on. The cards got tucked away and forgotten.
Fast forward to 2024. His mom finds a box in the closet while cleaning out the house. Inside: sealed Base Set booster packs and Jungle blisters. Christmas presents from when he was a kid — still sealed, never touched.
She hands them to Jon. He's holding packs that are 25+ years old. He gives them to his two kids. And just like that — the love for the hobby comes back, harder than it ever left.
Pokémon didn't bring Jon back. His kids did.

The One Who Never Stopped
Tony never needed a reason to come back to the hobby — because he never left. While Pokémon was cycling through eras, Tony stayed in it. Always pulling, always chasing, always knowing what was next before everyone else caught up.
When One Piece TCG dropped in the West, Tony was already into it before the hype hit. He understood the game, the meta, the chase cards. Not because he researched it — because he lived it.
Two games, two deep obsessions. Pokémon & One Piece — Tony carries both.
Some people collect cards. Tony IS the collection.

How Two Collectors Became One Team
The Trade
Jon hit the Costco drop and scored Blooming Waters. Tony hit the Walmart drop and grabbed a Prismatic ETB. Both wanted what the other had. They found each other on Facebook Marketplace.
The Connection
A quick swap turned into a 2-hour conversation about cards, sets, the market, and the hobby. Two guys who had never met — talking like they'd been at shows together for years.
The Shows
They started running into each other at shows. Every event, same two guys. At some point it stopped being a coincidence and started feeling like something they were supposed to be doing together.

"Jonton" is a mashup — wonton (for Jon) and Tony's pizza (for Tony). Two cultures, two backgrounds, one name. They stopped being two separate guys at shows and became one team with one booth.
